In a bid to strengthen higher education through cross-border collaboration, research networks and academic mobility.Victoria University Uganda has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences (SeAMK) in Finland, marking a significant step towards strengthening international academic cooperation and expanding opportunities for students and researchers.
The partnership signed in Kampala is expected to create opportunities for international student exchanges, collaborative research and knowledge sharing between the two institutions.

The agreement will also provide a framework for Victoria University students and academic staff to engage with their counterparts in Finland, gaining exposure to international academic practices and learning environments.
The agreement with SeAMK further positions Victoria University to deepen its engagement with international institutions and broaden opportunities for its students to gain global academic and professional exposure.
The partnership comes at a time when universities across Africa are increasingly seeking international collaborations to enhance research capacity, innovation, skills development and student mobility.

The collaboration is expected provide opportunities to participate in exchange programmes and benefit from academic experiences outside Uganda, while researchers may gain access to new networks and opportunities for joint research.Commentators have billed that Memorandum of Understanding between Victoria University and Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences as another step towards expanding Uganda-Finland cooperation in higher education and creating stronger links between the two academic communities.
Previously, Victoria University has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with 16 Chartered Universities in Gujarat State, India, in a bid to undertake student exchange programs in the areas of innovation, E-commerce, research, incubation programs to support starts-ups and technical support to start-ups.
