The Member of Parliament for Mawongola North Shartis Kuteesa  has appealed to women in the Corporate class to market Uganda to International world.

Officiating at the inaugural Women in Marketing Summit in Kampala she thanked Evolve Group Africa for creating beautiful space to celebrate visionary women who have given shape and soul to the marketing and communications landscape in Uganda.

“I would like to make a broader patriotic appeal. You, the women who have excelled in marketing, have become extraordinary. But beyond driving up profits, you have a national duty—to use your voices and your
platforms to sell our country, to brand it, to promote our culture, our unique ways and the innovation therein, our beauty, our resilience,” she said

CENTENARY BANK GENERAL MANAGER BEATRICE LUGALAMBI ADDRESSING WOMEN

“Patriotism isn’t only in flags and anthems—it is also in the way we position Uganda to the world, in tourism, in

trade, in storytelling. You do not just have to be marketers; you are also nation-builders,”Kuteesa stressed.

She saluted those who you have built their careers the hard way sayings it’s a proposition trade,

“you’ve endured rejection, fought for budgets, pushed boundaries in boardrooms that weren’t always kind, and broken ceilings that many didn’t even believe existed. Yet here you are—brilliant, bold, and breaking through.

Congratulations on your journey and your triumphs and tenaciousness. But as we celebrate today, I hope that we also reflect. What will your legacy be?,”Kuteesa wondered.

“I urge you to mentor a younger woman, to open a door, to share an opportunity. Devote your time, invest your money, offer your wisdom. Because continuity matters. If we don’t pass on the torch, we risk losing the fire,” she added.

She told women that the world of marketing is evolving rapidly.

HON SHARTIS KUTEES DURING THE WOMEN IN MARKETING CEREMONY

” These days we are told that data is the new oil. AI, influencer ecosystems, immersive brand storytelling—these are the tools of the future. Audiences are fragmented, platforms are too many, attention spans are shrinking, and expectations are rising. And so to thrive, we must stay on the edge—curious, adaptable, and innovative. Allow me to end with a brief anecdote from the global entertainment world,”she stated.

Beatrice Lugalambi, General Manager of Corporate Communications & Marketing at Centenary Bank hailed the Women in Marketing Honors & Summit as a “platform of truth and triumph” and “a defining moment for Uganda and the continent.”

Lugalambi encouraged marketers to embrace both artificial intelligence (AI) and data-driven strategies, emphasizing the crucial blend of AI with human intuition. She highlighted that the most impactful campaigns are those designed with data insights, deeply reflecting human emotion, behavior, and context.

Lugalambi urged, “I urge marketers to challenge themselves and stay versatile, authentic, and bold. It’s not just about following data, but about using it to tell stories that matter. When you lead with purpose and keep empathy at the center, your work can truly make an impact.”

The Chief Guest, Hon. Shartsi Kutesa Nayebare Musherure, Member of Parliament for Mawogola North constituency and Managing Director of Mbabule 101.1 FM, shared her personal marketing journey, specifically her experience promoting Ugandan jewelry in the United States. She attributed her business success to being open-minded, bold, and willing to take risks.
