Pride Bank has officially launched its strategic partnership with Interswitch, a system that will expand access to convenient, secure and affordable banking services for customers across Uganda.
According to officials Pride Bank customers will benefit from two key solutions: Quickteller Agency Banking, which extends selected banking services through Interswitch’s network of more than 21,000 agents across Uganda, and the roll out of Pride Bank Verve Debit Cards, connecting customers to a wider network of ATMs and payment acceptance points.
Veronica Namagembe, the Managing Director, Pride Bank, said the partnership reflects the Bank’s commitment to making financial services more accessible to the communities it services and responsive to the needs of its customers.
“At Pride Bank, we believe banking should fit into the lives of our customers rather than requiring our customers to organize their lives around banking. This partnership allows us to extend our reach, give our customers greater choice in how and where they access financial services. Whether it is a trader running a business, a farmer managing their income or a customer travelling across the country, we want Pride Bank to remain within reach,” said Ms. Namagemebe.
She emphasized that through Quickteller Agency Banking, Pride Bank is extending selected banking services beyond traditional branches and closer to communities across Uganda. Customers can access everyday services including cash deposits, withdrawals, loan repayments and bill payments through participating in Quickteller agents, providing greater convenience for customers who may not be located near a Pride Bank branch.
“For customers such as traders, farmers, small business owners and bodaboda riders, the service provides a practical way to manage everyday financial transactions while going about their business. The agency network also creates opportunities for participating businesses to offer financial services within their communities while generating additional income through commissions and increased customer traffic.
To further enhance customer experience and convenience, Pride Bank is rolling out Verve Debit Cards to its customers, providing them with access to a broader payment and cash withdrawal network,”Namagembe stressed.

He said through the combined offering, customers can access selected banking services through Quickteller agents within their communities, while Verve Cardholders can use their cards across the wider Interswitch ATM and POS Network.
Pride Bank and Interswitch will continue working together to deepen the customer experience and expand the value delivered through partnership as the solutions scale across Uganda.
