Foton Motors, a global leader in automotive manufacturing, is set to expand its footprint in Uganda with the launch of brand-new range of vehicles at the company’s showroom in Namanve Industrial area.

Foton Motors National Marketing Manager says the new brands include Aumark, Tunland, Miler, View CS2, Truck Mate, Aumna R, and Auman C models  will bring a blend of affordability, advanced engineering, and robust performance, all tailored to meet the demands of Uganda’s diverse road network.

“From heavy-duty trucks to sleek pickups and versatile minibuses, the collection aims to strike a balance between durability and modern design,”Andrew Kavuma stated.

He emphasized that Foton’s new offering will introduce more than 50 units, including duty trucks, pickups, mini trucks, minibuses, and cargo vans.

“By investing in this wide product range, the company is not only strengthening its presence in Uganda but also signalling a commitment to supporting the growth of the country’s transport and automotive sectors with reliable, future-ready solutions,”Kavuma stressed.

According to Kavuma the high-profile event will be graced by Honourable Katumba Wamala, Minister of Transport, and Mr. Robert Mukiza, Director-General of the Uganda Investment Authority.

Their attendance underlines the strategic importance of the launch, positioning it as more than just a corporate milestone—it is a boost to Uganda’s economy, job creation, and infrastructure development.

Uganda’s motor industry is undergoing transformation facing declining new and used sales in recent years but positioning it self for future growth through ambitious local production targets ,increased demand for electric vehicles and government support for domestic manufacturing.

While challenges like high taxes, import dependencies, and supply chain issues persist, efforts are underway to strengthen local supply chains, develop domestic capabilities, and leverage global partnerships to achieve a localized, competitive automotive sector.
