In abid to beat stiff competition in the banking sector and remain relevant in the market place, Equity Bank Uganda has launched a toll-free customer contact centre line, enabling customers to access support free of charge.

The new toll-free line is available 24/7, aiming to streamline customer inquiries and facilitate faster resolutions while removing the expense associated with previous customer service calls.

The new toll-free line 0800 232700 is available 24/7 and customers will be served in several languages spoken across Uganda including Swahili, Luganda, Luo, Runyakitara and other four Rs languages.

Equity Bank’s Head of Customer Experience Jael Christine Wawulira emphasized the value of this service enhancement in building stronger relationships with customers:

“Easy and accessible communication channels are vital to fostering trust and ensuring customer satisfaction,” she said.

“By introducing toll-free lines, we underscore our commitment to delivering a first-rate banking experience, ensuring our clients can effortlessly reach us whenever they need assistance.”she stresses

New toll-free lines promote convenience by simplifying the customer support process. The Bank anticipates that this initiative will significantly enhance client satisfaction, as it gives customers the freedom to seek support with ease, regardless of their location or time of day.

The toll-free service is now available to all Equity Bank customers, representing another stride toward creating an inclusive and supportive banking environment across Uganda.

Equity Bank Uganda Limited was created in 2008 when the Equity Group Holding Limited purchased Uganda Microfinance Limited, a Tier II, Ugandan microfinance company for an all-share price of US$27 million.

Equity Bank (Uganda) launched under its new brand on 30 March 2009.
