Atleast 300 exhibitors are expected to showcase their products at the inaugural Uganda Real Estate & Housing Expo 2025, under the theme  “Resilient by Design, Affordable by Intent: Shaping the Future of Real Estate,” at Kati Kati Restaurant in Kampala from Sept. 26-28  courtesy of Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development in partnership with Douglas Events Ltd.

Acting Director of the Housing Directorate Dave Khayangayanga, said the event will be a crucial platform for exploring investment opportunities, discussing market trends and showcasing sustainable building practices.

“There is a housing deficit in Uganda, which stands at approximately 2.4 million units,” Khayangayanga said. “Most of this impacts low-income earners, and there is a need for inclusive housing solutions.”

DOUGLAS MUKWAYA EVENT ORGANISER

He noted that Uganda’s population is urbanizing at a rate of 5.2% per year, creating a significant demand for affordable housing.

Douglas Mukwaya, CEO of Douglas Events Ltd., said the expo is a “groundbreaking initiative” designed to transform housing and urban development. He recognized the support of government and private sector partners, including Centum Real Estate, KCB Bank and MTN Uganda.

According to Mukwaya ,the real estate sector contributes about 11% to Uganda’s gross domestic product, with significant growth in residential, commercial and mixed-use developments, according to data from the Uganda Bureau of Statistics.

Isaac Mukiibi, Head of Mortgages at KCB Bank Uganda, the event sponsors reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to flexible mortgage solutions and partnerships to help “build legacies and shape Uganda’s real estate future.”

Mean while Sandra Kanyiginya, Marketing Manager at Regal Paints encouraged the public to attend the event, stating that the company is “inspiring new possibilities in housing.”

Regal Paints Uganda, a subsidiary of Crown Paints Kenya PLC, is a paint company with a state of the art manufacturing plant located in Seeta. The plant has capacity to produce over 1,500,000 litres of paint in its factory each month.

Regal Paints has a wide range of products varying from Decorative paints, Industrial paints, Road Marking, Thermoplastic Paints, Automotive Paints, Wood finishes and Varnishes, High Quality fillers, Texture and Multicolor Duotone paints suitable for Domestic, Commercial and Industrial use.
