Victoria University Corporate Affairs Manager Public Relations Manager Julius Bukyana has graduated with a degree in international relations and diplomacy at Uganda Christian University.

The graduation took place during the second session of Uganda Christian University’s (UCU) 25th ceremony, where 1,165 students were awarded degrees, diplomas, and certificates. Of these, 625 were female and 540 male, with 60 graduates achieving First Class Honors.

The event, held at the university’s Main Campus in Mukono, was presided over by Archbishop Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, the Chancellor of UCU. Mr. Graham Yoko, CEO of Accelerated Education Enterprises, served as the Chief Guest.

Archbishop Kaziimba commended UCU’s administration for their dedication to educational excellence. “UCU is the coolest, most innovative, dust-free, paperless, and disciplined university in Africa,” he said. He also urged the government to fulfill President Museveni’s promise to tarmac Bishop Tucker Road, which he emphasized is crucial for campus accessibility.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Aaron Mushengyezi, announced UCU’s seven-year Campus Transformation Initiative, aimed at enhancing the university’s environment.

He highlighted ongoing efforts to digitize services, refurbish facilities, and improve campus aesthetics.

Prof. Mushengyezi also unveiled new partnerships and scholarship opportunities, including a Business Innovation Hub developed in collaboration with Hanze University, aimed at fostering entrepreneurship among students.

In his address, Mr. Yoko encouraged graduates to embrace their purpose and to serve as “lights in the world.” He emphasized resilience and faith as key to overcoming future challenges. “Remember that setbacks are part of the journey, but God is faithful. Don’t just be crazy, but be MAD (Make A Difference),” he said.

Bishop Prof. Alfred Olwa praised UCU for its commitment to holistic education, focusing on developing graduates who embody ethical leadership and positive community impact.

Among the notable graduates, Christy Asiimwe emerged as the overall best student with a CGPA of 4.80, while Nuwaine Dismas was recognized as the best male student with a CGPA of 4.79. Additionally, Bishop Elisha Kamani and Rev. Wonyaka Alfred graduated with PhDs in Theology, and Musiimenta Annet and Rev. Fr. Ssebyanzi Bonaventure earned PhDs in Education Administration and Management.
