SAFAL UGANDA BAATI FOUNDATION JOINS ROTARY IN CANCER DRIVE

Safal Uganda Baati Foundation, through its health thematic focus, has partnered with Rotary Uganda in the annual Rotary cancer run to raise funds that will raise awareness and make medical care for cancer patients easier to access. This marks the first official initiative undertaken by Safal Uganda Baati Foundation after its official launch last week as Uganda Baati celebrated its 60th anniversary.

The 12th Annual Rotary Cancer Run is set to happen on the 25th August at the UMA Millennium Parking Grounds with the aim to raise awareness about cancer prevention and response, improve access to affordable and quality cancer care, all while raising UGX 4 billion to support the ongoing cancer treatment initiatives at Nsambya Hospital.

“Our participation in these campaigns demonstrates our firm support for the cause while helping us establish strong referral mechanisms and support networks for patients battling cancer, who come through our facilities,” said Mr. George Arodi, CEO of Uganda Baati.

This year, with funding support from Uganda Baati Limited, Safal Uganda Baati Foundation has secured running kits for its staff that will participate in this year’s Cancer Run under the theme “Spread Magic in Every Step.” Leading up to the event, the Foundation’s community health outreach programs will intensify their focus on creating awareness about the most prevalent cancers, promoting prevention methods, and encouraging timely health-seeking behavior within the communities.

The President of the Rotary Club of Kampala Morning Star, Ms. Jolly Twine Mpairwe, applauded Uganda Baati for its continued support in this noble cause to fight the cancer scourge in Uganda. This was during the official handover of the kits at the Uganda Baati Head offices where the CEO, George Arodi warmly welcomed the Rotary team.

“As Safal Uganda Baati Foundation, we believe in empowering the communities we serve. Cancer is a deadly disease and I wish to implore people to stay ahead of it through prevention and early detection. With the right education, individuals have the power to make meaningful lifestyle choices that can prevent cancer and other non-communicable diseases,” Arodi emphasized.

The Foundation looks forward to joining hands with the rest of the country on August 25, 2024, for the Cancer Run, reinforcing its commitment to enhancing health outcomes through active participation in national health advocacy campaigns.
