NCBA Bank Uganda Limited has officially launched its NCBA NOW Zero Transaction Fees campaign, a major digital initiative removing transaction charges on key services until December 31, 2026. The campaign aims to drive digital banking adoption, reward existing users, and welcome new customers with affordable, friction-free financial services.

The fee waiver applies to selected transactions executed via the NCBA NOW mobile app, web platform, and *212# USSD channel. Eligible zero-fee services include:Utility bill payments (water, electricity, pay-TV),Bank-to-wallet transfers (mobile money),Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT) and Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS),International transfers and National Social Security Fund (NSSF) payments

NCBA Bank Uganda Chief Executive Officer Mark Muyobo emphasized that the move aligns with the bank’s commitment to making banking simpler and more rewarding.

“At NCBA, we believe banking should do more than facilitate transactions; it should make life easier, create opportunities, and empower people to pursue their ambitions,” said Muyobo. “By removing transaction fees on selected services through our digital channels for the remainder of the year, we are encouraging customers to make greater use of digital banking while enjoying tangible savings on everyday transactions.”

The digital campaign directly complements NCBA’s active SME-focused initiative, “Ku NCBA Kiggwa Ku Bwererere.” Designed to cushion small and medium enterprises against high operational costs, this campaign offers qualifying businesses free banking and zero transaction fees and Zero arrangement fees on core credit facilities, including business loans, asset financing, Local Purchase Order (LPO) financing, and invoice discounting.

“We understand that for SMEs, every cost matters and every opportunity to improve cash flow can make a difference,” Muyobo added. “Together, these initiatives demonstrate our commitment to making banking work harder for our customers, whether they are individuals managing their daily finances or entrepreneurs building businesses.”

NCBA Bank invites existing, inactive, and prospective clients to download the NCBA NOW app or dial *212# to instantly benefit from these cost-saving measures.

NCBA Bank Uganda Limited provides a comprehensive range of financial solutions tailored to individuals, corporate entities, and small-to-medium enterprises. The bank remains focused on leveraging robust digital innovation to deliver accessible, secure, and cost-effective financial services across Uganda.

Digital banking in Uganda is undergoing a massive shift, driven by rapid mobile transaction growth and aggressive central bank policies pushing for a cashless economy. According to the Bank of Uganda (BoU), approximately 93 out of every 100 shillings in the country now move electronically

Powered by an expansive telecommunications infrastructure, mobile money remains the primary gateway for digital finance. Electronic money transaction values jumped 28%, skyrocketing from Shs 285.9 trillion in 2024 to Shs 366 trillion in 2025. Active mobile money accounts stood at 34.6 million by mid-2025, with commercial banks increasingly integrating mobile wallets to allow seamless bank-to-wallet transfers.
