MUSEVENI DISMISSES FALSE CLAIMS  THAT  NRM GOVERNMENT HAS SIDELINED BUGANDA SUBREGION

President Yoweri Museveni has dismissed claims that the NRM government has neglected Buganda sub-region.

Addressing mammoth crowd of Supporters in Rubaga Division campaign rally at Kitebi Primary School playgrounds Museveni said Buganda has benefited from wide-range of  economic and social infrastructure development, wealth and job creation, driven by various government initiatives under NRM leadership.

Museveni rallied residents of Rubaga Division to support NRM flag bearers at all levels in the forthcoming general elections, arguing that this would improve service delivery and address outstanding development needs in the area.

He challenged residents to take advantage of wealth creation opportunities in skills development, artisanship, manufacturing, the service sector, and peri-urban agriculture, noting that these sectors are viable even within urban settings like Rubaga.

The NRM presidential candidate however cautioned voters against electing what he termed “self-centered and biased leaders” who, he said, do not prioritize the socio-economic welfare of the people.

He noted that poor leadership undermines service delivery by failing to follow up on government programs and enabling corruption.

Museveni pledged to procure  land currently occupied by Nateete Market to secure the interests of market vendors.

Museveni urged voters to avoid what he described as opportunistic opposition politicians, emphasizing the need for effective representation.

The President further pledged to apprehend individuals involved in the theft of Parish Development Model (PDM) and other socio-economic empowerment funds. He assured residents that government is closely monitoring the utilization of wealth creation funds through regular audits.

Museveni encouraged residents to appreciate and safeguard government wealth creation initiatives, saying they are designed to uplift all Ugandans out of poverty, as demonstrated by success stories across the country.

The First Lady, Maama Janet Kataha Museveni, called on residents of Rubaga Division to embrace unity and consolidate their support for the NRM party to secure a collective victory. She said the NRM’s four decades in leadership have been guided by God’s grace, resulting in visible development and socio-economic transformation.

She also urged voters to intensify grassroots mobilization ahead of the elections.

Speaker of Parliament and NRM Second National Vice Chairperson (Female), Anita Among, appealed to voters in Rubaga to shun opposition leaders to benefit from government aided programmes of wealth creation.

She told the gathering that their  current Member of Parliament for Rubaga South Constituency, Aloysius Mukasa, has not contributed to parliamentary debates over the last five years.

Anita Among highlighted several development milestones achieved in Rubaga Division under the NRM government and outlined additional prospects planned for the area, as she rallied support for the party in the upcoming general elections.
