On November 10, 2009, Maj. Gen. Kazini was found dead at Draru’s rented home in Wabigalo, Namuwongo, a suburb of Kampala. He died from severe head injuries after Draru repeatedly struck him with an iron bar during a domestic disputeDraru argued that she acted in self-defense, claiming that an intoxicated Kazini had accused her of theft and infidelity, assaulted her, and threatened her life.
In 2011, the Kampala High Court acquitted her of premeditated murder due to a lack of state evidence and instead convicted her of manslaughter. Police said musician Moses Matovu’s death stemmed from a confrontation involving his girlfriend Rose Tumusiime and her former boyfriend, the police have said.Matovu was assaulted in Kibuli, Kampala, at about 5.30 am today, Thursday, sustaining serious injuries. He was rushed to Kibuli Hospital by a boda boda rider but later died while receiving treatment.
