Faced with a growing crisis of lifestyle-driven illnesses – diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and mental health challenges in Kampala,Dr A Medical Wellness Centre is here to provide modern whole care to the growing needs of patients.

Founded by Dr. Agnes Barbara Kobusingye, CEO & Founder, together with Lydia Murungi Tomusange, Dr A Medical Wellness Centre is redefining wellness in Uganda.

Their shared vision is clear: affordable, holistic wellness that restores dignity and productivity to every Ugandan.

“We don’t just treat what you see,” says Dr. Agnes Barbara Kobusingye, CEO & Founder.
“We uncover the root causes of illness and walk with you toward balance, healing, and lasting wellness.”

According to Kobusingye Dr A Medical Wellness Centre is dedicated to prolonging life and productivity by promoting healthy lifestyles, tackling lifestyle diseases at their root, and preventing acquired disabilities, It champions health and wellness in ways that are both practical and people-centered. It is the first-of-its-kind medical wellness hub in Uganda.

A New Kind of Care

The Centre believes that behind every lifestyle disease is a story: a buildup of stress, poor habits, mis information, myths and misconceptions, lifestyle challenges, unguided nutrition and supplementation, emotional strain, or trauma. By addressing these hidden drivers, Dr A  Medical Wellness Centre helps individuals, families, and institutions heal from the root.

“Dr A Medical Wellness Centre offers more than treatment – it offers understanding,”Kobusingye states.

Through a unique model that combines preventive healthcare, guided nutrition, mental and emotional health support, lifestyle coaching, and behavior-change tools, the Centre is rewriting what healthcare means in Uganda.

“At Dr A Medical Wellness Centre clients don’t just get prescriptions; they get personalized care plans that areculturally relevant, shaped around familiar foods, habits, fFinancially feasible, ensuring access without strain and scientifically sound, grounded in evidence but explained in simple, practical language,”he adds.

Making Science Simple, Life Practical

One of Dr A’s most transformative roles is education. By breaking down complex medical science into easy-to-understand guidance, the Centre empowers people to know their conditions, follow treatment, and make sustainable changes. This fosters adherence, reduces relapse, and restores dignity to healthcare.

Comprehensive Wellness for All

At the Centre every client undergoes a 360° wellness profile, covering body mind and soul and also integrating:Diet and nutrition habits,Physical activity and sleep,Environmental factors at home and work and Emotional and social well-being.

“From this, tailored care plans are developed – integrating medicine, psychology, nutrition, and social support to create balance in body, mind, and soul. Services also extend to early detection, supportive care, and creative therapies such as art, music, and nature-based healing,”Kobusingye stated.

Purpose and Impact

Dr A Medical Wellness Centre  is not just about healing individuals; it is about building a healthier, more resilient Uganda with the right health care support, the Centre aims to reduce the incidence and burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), sStrengthen adolescent health and resilience, empower families and caregivers with practical tools and also enhance institutional productivity through workplace wellness programs.

“The anticipated results are fewer hospital visits, stronger families, empowered youth, and a workforce that is both physically and mentally fit for national development,”Dr Kobusingye stressed.
