Artificial Intelligence is officially taking center stage at Victoria University’s landmark 10th Graduation Ceremony [2026].
As AI fundamentally alters both classrooms and workplaces, the university is using its milestone anniversary to re-examine how higher education can best prepare graduates for a rapidly shifting global economy.
The two-day event will take place on October 19 and 20 at the Speke Resort Convention Centre in Munyonyo, Kampala, under the forward-looking theme: “The Future Is High.”
The university’s leadership—including the Board of Directors, University Council, and Top Management—hailed this 10th graduation as a massive milestone in their mission to produce market-ready leaders.
Victoria University differentiates its approach through two core pillars: experiential Learning: Blending theory with hands-on practice and work-Integrated Learning: d irectly connecting classroom concepts to real-world employment and entrepreneurship.
According to Julius Bukyana, Victoria University’s Corporate and Public Relations Manager, the ceremony will actively address the growing intersection of technology and professional life.
“In the era of work-integrated learning and artificial intelligence, this year’s graduation ceremony is destined to zoom in on technological advances in education,” Bukyana stated.
He emphasized that modern universities must equip students with the flexibility and practical knowledge required to survive and thrive in an AI-reshaped workforce.
He further stressed that the event serves a dual purpose for both the student body and the institution: Honoring the hard work of the graduating class as they transition into their professional careers and creating a critical space to discuss how higher education must evolve alongside rapid technological change.
“By looking beyond the traditional ceremony, Victoria University is reinforcing its commitment to producing innovative graduates who don’t just hold degrees, but can turn knowledge into practical solutions for a tech-driven world,”he stated.
