Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, Manager of the ONC, announced the campaign, emphasizing its role in mobilizing support for President Yoweri Museveni. This initiative builds upon the previous “Tova Ku Main” movement, which successfully advocated for President Museveni’s candidacy.

The “Settle for the best” slogan is designed to reinforce the National Resistance Movement’s (NRM) assertion of President Museveni’s continued leadership as the optimal choice for Uganda. As election campaigns intensify, this slogan is expected to be a key element in NRM mobilization efforts, serving as a counter-narrative to opposition campaigns.

With campaigns expected to intensify, the  “Settle for the best” message will likely dominate NRM mobilizations, countering opposition slogans like “People Power”.

The slogan, “Settle for the Best, Museveni is the Best,” was announced by Hadijah Namyalo, ONC head and key mobiliser for Museveni’s supporters, during an event on Thursday at the ONC headquarters in Kyambogo.

The slogan reinforces the National Resistance Movement’s (NRM) messaging that Museveni remains the best leader to continue guiding Uganda’s development.

Hajjat Namyalo emphasised that the campaign will be a central part of NRM’s efforts in the lead-up to the 2026 elections.

She praised the president’s leadership, claiming that Uganda’s transformation into a modern economy is a direct result of his visionary governance.

“We pleaded with our dear President not to abandon his divine mission of transforming Uganda,” Namyalo stated, further lauding Museveni for fostering peace, stability, and development both in Uganda and the broader East African region.

Namyalo, who also serves as Senior Presidential Advisor, took the opportunity to criticise the opposition, specifically targeting National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine.Namyalo accused Kyagulanyi of misrepresenting Uganda’s progress and undermining government initiatives like the Parish Development Model (PDM), which she argues has helped lift millions out of poverty.

“The opposition continues to malign successful government initiatives for their own benefit,” she said. “Meanwhile, we are empowering Ugandans, especially the youth, to build businesses and support their families.”
