Youth empowerment advocate Joshua Baguma has donated 60 footballs to support grassroots talent in Tooro Kingdom, fueling the dramatic conclusion of the 2026 MTN Amasaza Cup.
Baguma, the founder and CEO of the Just Believe Foundation, presented 50 footballs directly to the newly crowned Omukama of Tooro, Edward Rukidi Nyabongo I, for distribution to competing county teams. He handed over an additional 10 footballs to Fort Portal City Mayor, Rev. Kintu Muhanga, to boost sports development in the urban center.
The donation arrived at a historic moment for the kingdom. The tournament had been paused at the semi-final stage following the passing of Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV on August 27, resuming only after the coronation of Nyabongo I on September 29.
The Football Champions: Burahya County clinched their second historical title, defeating Mwenge South 3-0 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in normal time. Thousands of fans braved torrential rains at the Kichwamba Technical College playground to witness the showdown.
Winners Burahya walked away with UGX 15 million, while runners-up Mwenge South took home UGX 9 million. Fort Portal County secured third place after a 2-1 victory over Kitagwenda.

Mwenge South claimed the netball championship title and a UGX 7 million cash prize after defeating Kitagwenda.
Following the final whistle, Omukama Nyabongo I hosted Baguma at the Karuziika Palace to discuss long-term talent development across Tooro’s nine counties. Addressing the finals crowd, the King revealed ongoing talks with the tournament’s main sponsor, MTN, to increase funding and expand the competition into additional sporting disciplines. He also issued a strong call to the youth, urging them to reject drug abuse and warning young girls against early pregnancies.
Co-founded alongside popular Ugandan musician Joshua Baraka, the Just Believe Foundation is actively rolling out sports infrastructure projects and youth programs across the region.
“I believe in youth empowerment, talent identification, and sports development,” Baguma stated, noting that he is currently leveraging his network to draw fresh business investments into Tooro.
