Known as Uganda first industrial capital city,Jinja City will host this year’s edition of National E-Mobility Expo 2025 from September 18-19, 2025 at the state-of-the-art Kiira Vehicle Plant in Jinja.

Dr. Monica Musenero Masanza, Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation this year’s expo unites policy ambition, scientific excellence, collective ecosystem action, and the power of talent into one resounding national statement: Uganda setting the pace, we are driving our future, together.

Musenero noted that this iconic event is the ignition point of a bold, homegrown movement to reimagine how Ugandans move, build, and innovate.

DR MUSENERO DURING THE LAUNCH

“This Expo is acall to action, a convergence of ideas, investment, and ingenuity. It is here that we showcase our transformative journey, from promise to impact in the economy as we elevate homegrown solutions and position Uganda at the forefront of Africa’s green mobility movement,” she said.

With e-mobility now a strategic priority in NDPIV, the Expo is a rallying call to every citizen, engineer, policymaker, development partner, financial institutions, and entrepreneurs to contribute to a shared vision of sustainable transportation, economic empowerment, and climate resilience.

Building on the resounding success of the inaugural E-Mobility Expo 2024, the National E-Mobility Expo 2025 is a powerful call to collective action. Under the theme, “Powering Innovation, Accelerating Industrialization, and Shaping Africa’s Green Future,”

The Expo is designed to be acollaboration, where every stakeholder plays a vital role in positioning Uganda as a net source of e-mobility solutions across the continent.

The inaugural edition attracted over 300 participants from Uganda and around the globe.

According to the E-Mobility Outlook Report 2024, Uganda has mobilized over $160 million in investment, built capacity to produce 10,000 electric vehicles annually, and established more than 160 charging and swapping stations nationwide.

In acomment  Paul Isaac Musasizi, the CEO, Kiira Motors Corporation, described the National E-Mobility Expo 2025 as  a spirited affirmation of Uganda’s resolve to pioneer a cleaner, smarter, and more inclusive tomorrow.

“It marks a profound shift from passive aspiration to active transformation. Here, we are not change fans and analysts, we are engineering it, scaling it, and living it. This is the heartbeat of a nation on the move. We are now architects of a future only we can define, and like every great movement, ours began with a spark,” Musasizi said.

He added that Uganda’s electric vehicles are unique because they are tailored for local terrain, local needs, and local economies. They offer affordability without compromise, efficiency without pollution, and mobility without dependency.

“For our customers, this means lower transport costs, cleaner air, and greater reliability. For entrepreneurs, it means new business models, franchise opportunities, and access to fiscal space that was previously out of reach. The Kayoola EVS buses, for example, are moving people while unlocking enterprise value, enabling operators to reinvest in service quality, expand routes, and create jobs,” he said.
