In abid to control sprawling Developments in urban cities Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development is set establish real estates policy in place.

Director of Lands and Settlement in the Ministry Dave Khayangayanga says this policy will put real estates players in check amidst rapid developments in urban centres.

“Uganda’s construction industry is booming however real estates players need to embrace innovations to cater for adversaries of climate change for the future,” he said

He was addressing the Media and announcing the 3rd Uganda Buildcon International expo which will take place from 8th to 10th at Uganda Manufacturers Association show ground ay Lugogo in Kampala undsr the theme:Connect with the Construction Industry to build abetter tomorrow.

Khayangayanga said this years them forbthe exhibition isvrelevantbto Uganda’s vibrant building and construction sector which is positioned to address tomorrow’s challenges saying in the current global economy, individuals abd companies must strategise themselves tobe at the forefront of technological innovations.

He called upon local and international industry practitioners to put innovative technologies atbthe centre of development by creating awareness, promoting innovative approaches asbwell as building sustainable collaborations in the construction industry.

The three days Uganda Buildcon International Expo is being organised by Exhibition and Trade Services India Pvt Limited in partnership with Futurex Trade Fair and Events PVT limited and Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development.

Other partners include Surveyors Institution of Uganda, Uganda Manufacturers Association,Uganda Engineers Registration Board and Uganda Society of Architects.

Alozius Gonza President of institution of Uganda Surveyors said this year’s Uganda Buildcon International exhibition focuses on Architecture, building, construction, design and engineering sectors.
“The trade show brings together both international and domestic players in different spheres of the building and construction industry to show case innovations in the housing and construction sector and hold business to business discussions,”Gonza said.
“Its an opportunity to learn from different construction players and injivate ways to address climate change challenges innthe the building sector,” he added.

Vaibhav Srivastava Project Manager Futurex said exhibition will enhance the mission to provide comprehensive platform to enable growth of the building and construction industry in Uganda through interactions with domestic and international exhibitors whonwill be showcasing their products and services.
According to him125 exhibitors from India, Kenya Ghana, China, United Arab Emirates, Djibouti, Malaysia and Uganda have confirmed participation.
