NHCC SCOOPS BEST REAL ESTATES DEVELOPER AWARD

Natonal Housing and Construction Corporation has scooped Best Real Estates Developer Award in the National Property Award ceremony held on Saturday at the Homes and Gardens Expo at Sheraton Hotel.

The National Property Awards Uganda organized by Home Owners Association under the leadership of Dr Edwin Musiime marks ahistoric milestone in recognizing excellence and innovation within the country real estates and housing sector.

The premier event brings together developers, architects, financiers, policy makers and home owners to celebrate achievements that are shaping Uganda’s property land scape.

“The awards highlight excellence across categories such as sustainable development, innovation in housing, design and architecture, affordable housing solutions and contribution to community growth,”Musiime states

.According to Musiime, Beyond the accolades, the National Property Awards serve as catalyst for raising standards, building investor confidence and helping collaboration within the industry.

The National Property Awards are about honoring the spirit of resilience, innovation and progress in Uganda’s housing and property industry, this is about building a legacy that inspire generations to come,

The Uganda Home Owners Association has championed the property and Housing conversation for years positioning  the National Property Awards as the flagship event that honors integrity, creativity and sustainability in housing

In his remarks Dr Edwin Musiime noted NHCC was recognized for their outstanding and dedicated contribution to real estates industry for decades.

This year,NHCC is celebrating 60 years of Building Uganda’s housing legacy and has stood at the heart of Uganda’s housing story developing communities, enabling homeownership and setting standards for quality and reliability.

“From early urban estates to contemporary mixed-use concepts, NHCC projects have helped define how families live, work and thrive, ”Eng.Kenneth Kaijuka NHCC Chief Executive Officer states.

”NHCC’s mandate has always centred on access, quality and national impact. Today the company is embracing the future with a decisive push into sustainable planning, integrating solar readiness, water efficiency, smarter density and greener public spaces across our upcoming developments,” Kaijuka added.

Commenting about the 60 years journey, Kaijuka said NHCC will prioritize community amenities, walkable streets, safety, play areas and proximity to services because a good home is part of a complete neighborhood. And soon launch a roadmap aligned to Uganda’s green transition

He however called for government support in scaling up vertical construction houses to address housing deficit and make rental houses in the market place affordable.

“We appeal to government to invest in National Housing and Construction Corporation to realize our mandate of providing affordable housing for the population. The available housing units put in place by our developers are expensive for the ordinary people,”Kaijuka stated.

He argued that once supported NHCC a state enterprise has a mandate to increase the housing stocks in the country, rehabilitate the housing industry and encourage Ugandans to own homes in an organized environment.

According to Kaijuka Since inception NHCC has constructed 2000 residential housing units in Kololo,Nalya, Bugolobi,Jinja,Mbarara, Mbale and Gulu.

In 2020, NHCC was honored as the Best Visionary Government Property Developer of the Year. The award was in recognition of the outstanding contribution towardsUganda Middle Income Status Aspiration and Vision 2040 on the 3rd of December 2020.
