American Music star Tyrese Gibson has officially confirmed attendance of Inspire Africa Coffee Marathon festival slated for May, 24, 2025 at the Inspire Africa Coffee Park in Kabuhungu hills Rwashamire town Council under the theme ‘Uplifting coffee woman from poverty’ in Ntungamo District in Uganda.
The Uganda Coffee Festival will celebrate the country’s rich coffee heritage and create awareness among the Ugandan citizens to embrace coffee drinking culture locally.
The Inspire Africa Coffee group Chief Executive Officer Nelson Tugume said the Coffee Marathon is targeting an international audience of about 5000 people and a total of 100,000 participants.
According to Tugume Inspire Africa intends to raise shs 2billion from the marathon event.Distances to be covered include 5km, 10km, 21km, and 40km and will be crowned with a coffee festival.
Inspire Africa Coffee Policy Advisor Duncan Abigaba said the money raised will help boost their contribution to the agricultural production value chain and support women groups
Meanwhile Tyrese has pledged his support for the Coffee Marathon, set for May 24, 2025, at the Africa Coffee Park in Ntungamo.
“I am standing in support of the Coffee Marathon, empowering the rural women in Uganda’s coffee communities—these are the women who make it possible for us to enjoy a great cup of coffee.” Tyrese stated:
This year’s marathon, themed “Uplifting the Rural Coffee Woman Out of Poverty,” aims to raise awareness and funds to empower rural women working in Uganda’s coffee sector.
