DELTA CASH UNVEILS KIGGALE CAMPAIGN TO BOOST BUSINESSES

Delta Cash a financial services provider in Uganda has launched a financing campaign dubbed “Kiggale” to provide short-term lending business.

According to officials Delta Cash offers fast personal loans, micro-loans, and logbook financing up to UGX 300 million.

“Funds are processed in under 12 hours with no hidden fees and vehicles remain with the owners during logbook loans,”Maria Nakachwa, head of finance and accounts at Delta Cash said.

She further said that under the campaign, the company  will offer loans of between UGX 2 million and UGX 300 million to Ugandans who need capital to seize opportunities.

“We have disbursed more than UGX 10 billion over the last five years, mostly to entrepreneurs and individuals who needed quick financing to take advantage of opportunities. That tells you who we built Delta Cash for. ‘Kiggale’ is exactly what we want our clients to experience: close the deal, and let us take care of the rest,” Nakachwa said.

She said many Ugandans lose business opportunities, delay investments or struggle to meet urgent financial obligations because of limited access to timely financing.

“Delta Cash lends against a vehicle logbook, allowing customers to borrow without surrendering their vehicle. The company places a caveat on the logbook for the duration of the loan and removes it once the loan is fully repaid,”she stated.

Nakachwa however says applicants must provide a national ID, a vehicle logbook registered in their names and six months of bank or mobile money statements.

According to her ,Delta Cash products include personal loans, business loans, and local purchase order and contract financing.

“We  offer loan buyouts, allowing customers to transfer loans from other lenders; bond clearance for vehicles held in bond; vehicle financing of up to 60% of a vehicle’s value; and doorstep services, where staff complete documentation at a client’s location,”Nakachwa explained.

Delta Cash is a product of Delta Partners Ltd, which has been in operation for five years, providing short-term financing for individuals and businesses.

About 81% of Ugandan adults have overall financial access, largely driven by mobile money and informal savings groups. However, active usage for credit and wealth accumulation remains low due to strict collateral demands, high interest rates, and a mismatch between formal bank products and informal cash flows.

The most recent  Global Index Report shows that access to formal financial services in Uganda rose from 66% in 2021 to 73% in 2024, driven by mobile money adoption.

“The transformative power of mobile money, the spread of SACCOs, agency banking, and targeted programs such as the Parish Development Model (PDM) and the Presidential Initiative on Wealth and Job creation  are all anchored on an enabling legal and regulatory environment,” said Bank of Uganda Deputy Governor, Prof. Augustus Nuwagaba. “These milestones have opened doors for millions of Ugandans, who are now part of the money economy.”
