“We are 100 percent an eco-lodge. The island runs on solar,” explains Sheena Ruparelia, Director at Paradise Island Resort. This green infrastructure allows guests to immerse themselves in nature, knowing their luxury getaway supports responsible tourism.

Beyond accommodation, Paradise Island is built around curated guest experiences. Architect Ivan Martin Kutosi notes that the project was conceptualized to be a vibrant hub for both leisure and business.

The resort features 38 thoughtfully designed accommodation units tailored to couples, families, and high-profile groups.

The inventory includes Standard Cottages – Perfect for intimate getaways,cliff-Hanger Cottages offering dramatic, elevated views of the lake,two-bedroom deluxe cottages – Ideal for families, featuring built-in, dedicated kids’ spaces and executive villas – designed for premium, private gatherings.

“We built it with family in mind, so there is kids’ accommodation within the cottages,” notes Ms. Ruparelia, emphasizing that the island is built to be a lifestyle destination rather than just a place to sleep.

The launch of Paradise Island Resort comes at a pivotal time for Uganda’s hospitality industry. Historically, tourism has contributed significantly to the nation’s GDP. By offering world-class eco-luxury infrastructure, the resort is positioned to directly boost domestic and international tourism by tapping into the highly lucrative global market of eco-conscious, high-spending travelers.

The property expands the country’s competitive edge within the East African hospitality market. It also aligns with the Uganda Toursim Board’s national marketing drive, “Explore Uganda, The Pearl of Africa,” by proving that the country can deliver world-class, premium leisure experiences that preserve its unique biodiversity. Furthermore, the island serves as a prime destination for bird-watching enthusiasts, drawing attention to Lake Victoria’s rich birdlife and natural ecosystems.
