Ministry of Health officials have been urged to expedite the process of granting Rubaga Hospital license to operate organ transplant. Dr. Julius Luyimbaazi, the Executive Director of the Hospital says Rubaga Hospital is prepared to initiate organ transplant as soon as it receives the necessary accreditation from the government. “Despite having applied for accreditation from the Ministry of Health last year, the hospital is still waiting for approval,”he said. ” The hospital has made all necessary preparations, including training surgeons and setting up facilities for organ transplant but unable to proceed without the government’s approval, “Luyimbaazi stressed. In line with Presidential Directive to establish 25 Industrial Parks, under Rwakakamba’s stewardship, The Uganda Investment Authority managed to mobilize over 80 square miles of land across Uganda for establishment of industrial parks.
