VIVO ENERGY UGANDA,CHINESE BUSINESS COMMUNITY CELEBRATE LUNAR NEW YEAR

In a cordial move aimed to strengthen commercial ties for 2026.nurture business relations ,Vivo Energy Uganda hosted Chinese business leaders and government officials  in Lunar New Year  celebrations.

The Chinese business community in Uganda is a major foreign investor, driving significant development in infrastructure, manufacturing, and trade, with over $1.3 billion in investment by late 2023. Concentrated in construction (roads/bridges) and industrial parks (e.g., Namanve, Mbale), Chinese enterprises employ thousands of local staff and operate under the  China Chamber of Commerce in uganda  to enhance economic ties, frequently supporting community project

The event, marking the Year of the Horse, drew representatives from the construction, manufacturing and transport sectors. Executives used the gathering to emphasize long-term infrastructure partnerships and new technical innovations designed to reduce operating costs for industrial partners.

Vivo Energy Uganda,Managing Director Joanita Mukasa Menya, said the Year of the Horse symbolizes resilience and speed. She said the company remains committed to serving as a stable energy partner for the Chinese business community.

Hans Paulsen, Executive Vice President for East Africa at Vivo Energy Group, highlighted the company’s shift toward digital monitoring tools. He pointed to the VE-CEM system, which provides real-time data on equipment health to help businesses avoid unplanned downtime.

Paulsen said these innovations go beyond simple fuel supply to help local businesses remain competitive through predictive maintenance and increased efficiency.

Speaking for the visiting delegation, Huang Tao of Wagagai Mining Uganda Limited said reliability is a priority for Chinese enterprises operating in the region.

Vivo Energy Uganda has demonstrated reliability and responsiveness that align with our operational needs, Huang said. As we continue to invest and expand, partnerships like this give us confidence to pursue long-term growth.

The horse is one of 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac and is traditionally associated with strength and forward momentum.
