UNEB TO RELEASE PLE RESULTS ON FRIDAY

Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has announced that the long-awaited results of the 2025 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) will be released on Friday, January 30, 2026.

According to UNEB spokesperson Ms Jennifer Kalule, the release date was agreed upon on Wednesday evening following a closed-door meeting with the Minister of Education and Sports, Ms Janet Kataha Museveni, who is also the First Lady.

The release has been scheduled for Friday, January 30, 2026 at 11:00am at State Lodge, Nakasero, Ms Kalule said, adding that the briefing of the Minister of Education and Sports was successfully conducted and recognised by stakeholders.

She added that the Minister commended UNEB for its efforts in ensuring that the examination results are released on time.

UNEB  Public Relations Officer Jennipher Kalule confirmed  that the marking, verification, and quality assurance processes for the 2025 PLE were conducted as scheduled, noting that the brief internet interruption did not affect the exercise.

According to UNEB records, a total of 818,010 candidates registered for the 2025 PLE, representing a 2.5 per cent increase from the 797,444 candidates who registered in 2024. Of those who sat for the examinations, 428,398 were girls while 389,589 were boys.

Last year, the 2024 PLE results were released on January 23, a week earlier than this years release.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education has set February 16 as the reporting date for Senior One students, in line with the 2026 education calendar.

Meanwhile Official school opening calendar kicks off on February 10th according to circular from Ministry of Education.
