NRM PARTY UNVEILS MUSEVENI CAMPAIGN POSTER “PROTECTING THE GAINS”

The mighty National Resistance Movement (NRM) party has unveiled President Yoweri Museveni official campaign poster “Protecting the Gains”ahead of the 2026 general elections.

The launch took place the NRM party headquarters in Kampala attracting all Nrm big wigs.

The ruling NRM party has reaffirmed Museveni as its presidential candidate and his  nomination forms were collected last week by NRM Secretary General Richard Todwong and First National Vice Chairperson Moses Kigongo.

“He was nominated unopposed within the party. As for those who are claiming otherwise, I don’t know who they are or where they are. The party unanimously endorsed him, based on all the resolutions I’ve received in my office,” said Todwong.

In the previous general elections held on January 14, 2021, Uganda had 18,103,603 registered voters across 34,684 polling stations. Voter turnout stood at 57.2%, with 10,350,819 Ugandans casting their ballots.

Museveni secured a sixth term with 6,042,898 votes (58.38%), while Bobi Wine emerged as his closest challenger with 3,631,437 votes (35.08%). The 2021 race featured 11 presidential candidates and was marked by allegations of irregularities and restricted opposition activity.

Museveni’s win solidified his position as one of Africa’s longest-serving leaders, with his presidency now approaching the 40-year mark.

With the 2026 elections fast approaching, all eyes are once again on Uganda’s political landscape, where generational shifts and calls for change are competing with a long-standing incumbent’s grip on power.
