The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has launched a new mobile application called URSB Connect, allowing clients to access essential registry services directly from their smartphones without visiting physical offices.
The application streamlines access to key business functions, including company and business name registration, business name searches, annual return filings, and trademark and intellectual property services. It also provides information on insolvency and receivership, alongside access to the Security Interest in Movable Property Office (SIMPO), which manages the national chattels registry.
Speaking at the launch in Kampala, URSB’s Acting Registrar General, Mustapher Ntale, emphasized that the app is designed to maximize efficiency and convenience. “Our ambition is to make accessing URSB services easier, faster, and more convenient for every Ugandan. The URSB Connect App brings us closer to our clients by placing essential services and information in the palm of their hands,” Ntale stated.
The rollout aligns with URSB’s broader digital transformation strategy to eliminate paper-based workflows, reduce office queues, and minimize repetitive physical visits. The app will complement URSB’s existing online portal, the eRegistry (which succeeded the former Online Business Registration System), serving as an additional digital channel rather than a replacement.
URSB Connect is currently available for download on both the Google Play Store for Android and the Apple App Store for iOS devices.
