First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Community Affairs, Rt Hon Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga, has reaffirmed her allegiance to the Mighty National Resistance Movement (NRM), dismissing allegations of joining ghetto ragged National Unity Platform Party.

Addressing thousands of her supporters at Kamuli Municipal Grounds, Kadaga is committed to the NRM cause and urged Basoga to rally behind party flag bearers, especially those who supported her during the CEC race.

“I still feel the energy to continue with NRM, even though I lost in the CEC elections. That does not require me to quit the party. I urge you to vote for NRM flag bearers, especially those who stood with me in the elections,” Kadaga said.

Rt Hon Rebecca Kadaga called for unity among Basoga,  and cautioned against internal fights ahead of 2026 elections .

“Let Busoga stay united, because if we fight each other, we gain nothing. I am a victim of Basoga being used to fight me,” she said.

Hon Kissa Steven Bakubalwayo, MP for Luuka North, who chaired the organising committee for Kadaga Hom coming ceremony pledged to mobilise support for Kadaga across all districts in Busoga as a gesture of appreciation to her voters.

Dr Muhammad Kisambira Lubega, the Baise Igaga clan head and third deputy prime minister of Busoga Kingdom, who was the chief guest, also urged Basoga to embrace unity in addressing the region’s challenges.
