Uganda’s annual headline inflation for the 12 months ending June 2025 has risen to 3.9%, up from 3.8% the previous month, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) announced on Monday, 30th June 2025. The Uganda Vocational and Technical Assessment Board (UVTAB) has partnered with the Presidential Industrial Hubs to assess and certify students who undergo skills training in various industrial hubs across the country. The partnership aims to ensure that the training programs offered by the industrial hubs meet the required standards and are aligned with the National Skills Qualifications Framework. Health experts have urged government to regulate the sale and marketing of ultra-processed foods (UPFs) which are increasingly linked to cancer and other chronic diseases in children. Addressing media at Makerere University, Professor Archileo Natigo Kaaya from the Department of Food Technology and Nutrition, emphasized the growing health risk posed by UPFs in children’s diets. “Nutrient profiling is a scientific method of classifying foods based on their nutritional content. Uganda has over taken Ethiopia to become Africa’s premier coffee exporter,this website has learnt. According to latest reports Uganda hit $2billion coffe export earning ahed of Ethiopia in 2025. According to recent data unveiled at the World of Coffee Geneva 2025 event, Uganda exported a staggering 47,606.7 tonnes of coffee in May 2025, a 43.59% increase from the previous year. The monthly figures are equally impressive: Uganda exported 793,445 60kg bags in May alone, significantly up from 552,569 bags during the same period in 2024, resulting in export earnings of USD 243.9 million.
