President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has directed government ministries to halt scattered budgeting and instead concentrate resources on critical infrastructure such as roads, electricity, security, and wealth creation. Kigezi Sub-region population has risen by 30% Uganda Bureau of Statistics 2024 census report has revealed. The report, released in June, shows the region’s population has grown by 30% over the last decade from reaching 1,787,231 people compared to 1,376,774 in the 2014 census. According to the report,Kisoro district now has the largest population within the sub-region, with 433,662 residents. The Electoral Commission has postponed elections for non-unionized workers from August 5th to August 18th 2025. In the notice, the Commission said the delay was agreed upon with the ministry responsible for workers to allow more time for planning and preparation. “The Electoral Commission, in consultation with the minister responsible for workers, has found it necessary to allow for the conclusion of necessary preparations before convening the conferences.
