The President of Justice Forum (JEEMA), Asuman Basalirwa has urged Ugandans to vote President Yoweri Museveni than National Unity Platform (NUP), leader Robert Kyagulangi saying Museveni is abetter leader.
Addressing the media in kampala Basalirwa said,”“Better to be ruled by President Museveni than to live under Bobi Wine,” if Bobi Wine became president, I would either be in exile, in prison, or dead,” Basalirwa said.

“He’s not the man I used to know. He has changed completely,” he now fights anyone who was in the opposition before NUP came along,” Basalirwa added.
Basalirwa accused Bobi Wine of intolerance and being unwilling to work with other parties, saying NUP undermines and pushes out those who don’t fall in line.
“It’s not just me many opposition leaders feel the same. Bobi Wine wants to dominate, not collaborate,” he said.

Basalirwa accused Bobwine of direct political attack on a former ally.
“You cannot preach change while silencing your comrades,” Ugandans must know the truth not all that glitters in the opposition is gold,” Basalirwa said.
Basalirwa and Bobi Wine have been aunited opposition force however they fell apart when Basalirwa championed the Anti-Homosexuality Bill, which was passed by Parliament and signed into law by President Museveni.
While some Ugandans praised the bill, it sparked backlash from human rights activists, liberal voices, and even members of the opposition, who accused Basalirwa of siding with Speaker Anita Among and the ruling NRM.
In recent development Bobi Wine officially endorsed Marcellino Mangeni Egessa, a NUP candidate, to run against Basalirwa in Bugiri Municipality in the 2026 elections of which many people told Basalirwa this is not ordinary political move it felt like a betrayal.
