The Uganda Vocational and Technical Assessment Board (UVTAB) has kicked off its November–December 2025 assessment series, marking what officials describe as one of the most extensive national technical evaluation exercises ever conducted. “We are pleased to inform the public that the November/December 2025 assessment series has commenced with a total of 137,546 candidates registered across 743 centres,” Onesmus Oyesigye UVTAB Executive Secretary said. Electoral Commission (EC) has begun an extensive national recruitment exercise to enlist 35,734 temporary workers who will operate and train others on the newly acquired biometric voter verification machines for the 2026 General Election. The recruitment follows the arrival of the biometric equipment, which the Commission says marks a major step toward strengthening electoral integrity. The machines will be deployed at all polling stations to authenticate voters using fingerprints before ballot papers are issued.
