Islamic banking is a form of banking based on Islamic principles. Basically, in Islamic banking it is not allowed to pay and receive interest but rather it is based on profit sharing. Ticks infest cattle negatively impacting health, productivity and development of the dairy and beef industry resulting into huge economic losses, especially in sub-Saharan Africa. Annually, the total global costs linked to ticks and tick vectored pathogens in cattle range between US$ 13.9 billion and US$ 18.7 billion. In a marathon move aimed to realise President Yoweri Museveni directive of setting up 25 fully functioning Industrial parks by 2026,Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) has launched anew initiative dubbed the Investment Facilitation and Protection Campaign. According to UIA Director General Robert Mukiza, government’s industrialization plan will be strengthened by this campaign, which will also increase exports and encourage import substitution. Former President Jacob Zuma has been barred from running in South Africa’s general election in May. The country’s electoral commission, or IEC, has not given a reason. However, his 2021 conviction and jailing for contempt of court would appear to disqualify him. Leader of the National Unity Platform (NUP), Robert Kyagulanyi has continued with personal beef and suspended Mathias Mpuuga from his position as Deputy President Central Region with immediate effect. In accordance with Articles 6.3 (h) and 7.1 (e) of the Party Constitution,” Kyagulanyi said, “I hereby suspend you from the position of Deputy President of the National Unity Platform for Central Region with immediate effect, and accordingly refer the matter to the National Executive Committee for further action.” The decision to suspend Mpuuga comes as a result of corruption allegations leveled against him.
