MTN Uganda’s Corporate Social Responsibility arm, MTN Foundation, graduated 112 youths in Computer Applications as it continues to expand digital skills among young people across the country. The third cohort of trainees under the MTN Girls in Tech program includes eight males and 104 females, bringing the total number of graduates to 305 out of 385 assessed and 527 trained since the program’s inception a year ago. Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has called upon all online media platform owners to register with UCC or face closure of their sites. Mr.Nyombi Thembo, UCC Executive Director, said the media regulator is not interested in suffocating online media practitioners but to put in place regulations to control and guide online news flow. The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) is set to release preliminary National Population and Housing Census 2024 in july, this website has learnt. According to UBOS road map provisional results will be released in September and final results in December 2024.
