Atleast 730,233 candidates passed the 2025 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has announced According to UNEB, 388,293 candidates scored Division Two, making it the most common grade. This was followed by 165,226 candidates in Division Three, while 91,990 candidates attained Division One. A further 84,724 candidates passed in Division Four. Overall performance showed improvement compared to the previous year. UNEB reported that 7,503 more candidates passed PLE in 2025 than in 2024, while the number of candidates achieving Division One increased by 7,689. Makerere University has announced palsn to gradually reduce its undergraduate student intake while increasing enrollment at the graduate level, as part of a long-term strategy to become a more research-focused institution. Makerere University in Uganda has a total student enrollment of over 35,000,, with approximately 27,000–30,000+ students admitted annually as of 2023/24, including undergraduate and postgraduate students. Chief Justice Dr. Flavian Zeija has unveiled three major judicial reform instruments aimed at strengthening accountability, improving service delivery and reducing case backlog, The launch came hours after he presided over his first session of a presidential election petition. The Auditor General, Edward Akol, has revealed that only Shs9.34 billion has so far been recovered from beneficiaries of the Parish Development Model (PDM), despite Government having cumulatively released over Shs3.25 trillion to support household wealth creation across the country.
