The Ministry of Lands is taking significant steps in boosting Uganda’s economy through advocating for suitable land reforms to promote overall productivity. The Minister of State for Lands, Sam Mayanja, highlighted the urgent need to address the issue of unregistered land in Uganda, particularly customary land, which constitutes a significant portion of the country’s landmass. Farmers under their umbrella organizations Eastern and Southern Small Scale Farmers Forum (ESAFF) and Participatory Ecological Land Use Management (PELUM) Uganda have asked African governments to Intergrate Agroecology in the proposed Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) to attain Africa Food sovereignty. President Yoweri Museveni has officially appointed Professor Moses Muhwezi as the substantive Principal of Makerere University Business School (MUBS). Finance Minister Matia Kasaija has challenged the nrwly formed Uganda National Traders Alliance (UNATA) to address traders issues in harmony with causing any more strikes to paralyse businesses.
