The Executive Director of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA ) Hajjat Sharifah Buzaki has announced the return of the much-loved Kampala City festival ahead of the grand launch scheduled for August,6 2025 at City Hall
“We are bringing back the city celebration not just as an event, but as a platform to honor our culture, innovation, creativity, and most importantly, the community spirit that defines Kampala.”Buzaki stressed.
“It’s not just about fun. It’s about coming together as a city, recognizing how far we’ve come, and renewing our collective commitment to building a cleaner and more liveable Kampala.”sh added in a statement
The Kampala City Festival was suspended in 2018 to prioritize improvements to schools and health centers.
The Kampala City festival was not held in 2018 instead of KCCA focused on improving schools and health centers with the funds previously allocated to the event according to officials.
The activities included removing asbestos roofs from schools and constructing a maternity ward at Kiswa Health Centre
