BANYARWANDA VOW TO VOTE PRESIDENT MUSEVENI IN 2026

Banyarwanda born and raised in Uganda under their umbrella organization council for Abavandimwe have vowed to vote President Yoweri Museveni in the forth coming general elections

In special press conference held in Kampala they argued that President Museveni has help most of their members get national identity cards and recognition in the community they reside.

“President Yoweri Museveni has restored our dignity and proved that Pan-Africanism is not a slogan but a living ideal.as we talk National Identification Registration Authority is fully implementing the Executive Order and is now issuing National IDs to indigenous Banyarwanda without discrimination. For this, we will vote for General Yoweri Museveni and will rally every one of us to do the same,”Frank Gashumba the group Chairman said.

In sign of gratitude Gashumba expressed his appreciation by thanking the President for his resilience, fatherly love and hearing the Banyarwanda cry by issuing of executive order in place that has resolved discrimination I that Banyarwanda used to face in different government ministries and agencies.

”For decades, Banyarwanda suffered in silence. Though born and raised in Uganda, we were denied national IDs and passports not for wrong doing but for who we are. Lives were lost, dreams shattered and we were foreigners in our own land, victims of unpatriotic technocrat,”Gashumba stated

“We were mocked from the police headquarters, the inspectorate of government, the ministry of internal affairs, the Uganda Human Rights Commission, the Equal Opportunities Commission and even the parliament all offices did not address our misery. Finally, we took the matter to the highest office in the land then President Yoweri Museveni listened to us and in ahistoric decision, issued Executive order No.1 of  2025 with the stroke of apen our long-denied rights were restored. Citizenship was reaffirmed, discrimination outlawed and our people who had been treated as strangers in their own country were finally given back nor just documents but their dignity,”Gashumba emphasized.
