Thousands of Uganda football lovers were thrown into excitement as Uganda beat South Africa to send them home in 3-3 goals at Nambole Stadium on Monday.
This is the first time Uganda Cranes have played with passion in African football match to reach quarter finals of the 2024 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) a collective achievement that has electrified East Africa a passionate for football across the region.
Meanwhile Uganda counterparts Kenya topped Group A,Tanzania Group B and Uganda Group C
Uganda’s progression marks a long-awaited breakthrough. After six failed group-stage attempts, the Cranes fought to a dramatic 3-3 draw against South Africa in Kampala.
As the first CAF competition co-hosted by three nations, CHAN 2024 has already made history. The decision to spread matches across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda has been rewarded with passionate support, driving the hosts to success.
