Dr. Sylvia Alinaitwe Mwanaki, the former Deputy Managing Director of the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC), has launched her campaign for Rukiga Woman Member of Parliament seat.
Addressed a large crowd during a homecoming event at Kantale in Rukiga District she urged residents to embrace government wealth creation and financial empowerment programmes to boost household incomes.
Alinaitwe highlighted the recently established coffee factory as a key milestone, ensuring farmers have a reliable market for immediate payment and reducing exploitation by middlemen.
Dr Sylivia pledged to expand cash-saving initiatives by supporting local Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations (SACCOs), including the Akabox program, which she introduced in 2019.

She also vowed to promote peace and unity in Rukiga while backing President Yoweri Museveni and the National Resistance Movement (NRM) manifesto.
Alinaitwe further praised President Museveni’s leadership, pledging to uphold the NRM’s values of patriotism and development.
“Inspired by his vision, we shall work together to elevate Rukiga’s prosperity under the NRM banner,” she stated.
Dr. Sylvia Alinaitwe Mwanaki is a remarkable individual with a strong background in finance & corporate strategy.
She served as the Deputy Managing Director of Finance & Corporate Affairs at the National Water & Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) Uganda.
Her impressive credentials include being a Chartered Accountant & holding an MBA with First Class/Distinction from Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands.
She also holds a PhD in Business Administration.
Dr. Slyvia Alinaitwe is passionate about community development, particularly in Rukiga District.

She has initiated various projects, including, Agricultural Empowerment distributing 35,000 hoes and pangas to enhance agricultural productivity among households to boost agriculture productivity.
Dr. Alinaitwe has lobbied for partners to improve water & sanitation in Uganda & Rukiga District through infrastructure construction. She Implemented 24 wells & water tanks, & constructing public toilets in schools providing funding to worship centers, schools like giving computers to kihanga High school & village associations (obu Box) for women, men and boda boda stages throughout Rukiga District.
She has supported schools on top of donating computers to kihanga High school, she has been giving scholiastic materials like mathematical sets & pens to all p7 candidates throughout Rukiga District.
