The Uganda High Commission in Kuala Lumpur is pleased to present the Uganda-Malaysia Business Forum/EXPO. This is a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening economic and commercial diplomacy between Uganda and Malaysia, as well as other countries of accreditation.

This forum is designed to foster deeper bilateral relations, facilitate trade and investment, and create avenues for mutual economic growth.

As part of Uganda’s broader Economic and Commercial Diplomacy (ECD) agenda, this initiative aligns with government programs developed by line ministries to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), enhance job creation, and promote key sectors including Agro-industrialization, tourism, mineral development, oil and gas, agriculture and value addition, as well as ICT innovation and collaboration.

“While we intend to have exhibition and presentations we intend to create opportunities for B to B, G to G – we want manufacturors to meet with fellow manufactures. Investors to meet with fellow investors, industrialists to meet with fellow industrialists, etc, etc, ”
Malaysia will assume the Chairmanship of the ASEAN region, presenting a great opportunity for Uganda to strengthen its economic ties with Southeast Asia. We must intensify our engagement with ASEAN member states to maximize trade and investment benefits during Malaysia’s tenure as chair.

Uganda is currently on a steady economic growth trajectory, with its GDP projected to expand by over 6.5% in the coming years. However, our long-term goal as a country is to expand Uganda’s GDP to $500 billion by 2040. With a young and dynamic population, abundant natural resources, and a strategic location within East Africa, Uganda is an attractive investment hub. To unlock our full economic potential, we must forge strong partnerships with investors from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam in key sectors of mutual interest.
