The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has taken note of a TikTok video circulated by one Fred Lumbuye, which falsely claims to display alternative presidential election results allegedly placing Hon Robert Kyagulanyi in the lead.
NRM wishes to clarify that the claims in this video are false, misleading, and technically impossible, for several reasons including the ones outlined below:
The Uganda Electoral Commission reportedly transmitted results using a private, offline Wide Area Network (WAN) that does not rely on the public internet. Such a system cannot be accessed, viewed, or recorded from online platforms.

The video lacks any official EC identifiers no authenticated domain, system headers, timestamps, or audit references elements that are mandatory in legitimate election systems
Technical indicators show post-production editing, including imported audio overlays inconsistent with certified election software. This strongly suggests AI-assisted or manual manipulation.
EC systems reportedly operate on local static IP addresses that are non-routable on the public internet, making any alleged “remote capture” or “leak” impossible.
All presidential candidates and their accredited agents had access to the official results environment and can attest that the interface shown in the video does not match the EC system they observed.

The colours, layout, typography, and branding in the circulated clip do not correspond to the official EC interface used on 15 January 2026.
I am reliably informed that the EC systems are role-based, logged, and auditable. Any purported leak of national results would leave a clear *forensic trail*. No such evidence exists.
In clonclusion ,the video in question is therefore a fabrication designed to resemble an official platform and mislead the public. It’s all clear that it did not originate from the Electoral Commission and should be treated as deliberate misinformation.
The NRM party urges the public, media houses, and digital platforms to disregard the video, rely solely on official communications, and refrain from amplifying content that undermines confidence in Uganda’s democratic processes.
