CANADA NRM CHAPTER SYMPOSIUM PUSHED TO OCTOBER

The 4th Canada NRM Chapter Symposium 2025, themed “Reigniting a Nation for Greatness,” originally scheduled for September 26-28 in Toronto, has been officially postponed to October 2025.

 Rt. Hon. Nakadama Rukia Isanga, 3rd Deputy Prime Minister and Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, announced the postponement in a letter referencing ongoing nomination activities within the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Party.

These activities involve the Electoral Commission’s process of including candidates at both local and national levels. Rt. Hon. Nakadama stated.

 “Owing to the activities going on in the NRM party inclusion nominations of candidates both of local and national levels by the Electoral Commission, the Symposium has been postponed to October 2025 and the date will be communicated.” Nakadama stressed.

She encouraged all delegates to prepare for a strong turnout on the rescheduled dates to celebrate the collective achievements of the NRM Party.

Ambassador Abbey Walusimbi, Senior Diaspora Affairs Advisor to His Excellency the President, together with Chairperson Fred Kinene of the Canada NRM Chapter, emphasized the symposium’s critical role in uniting Ugandans abroad.

The event serves as a cornerstone for mobilizing diaspora support ahead of the 2026 general elections and reinforcing President Yoweri Museveni’s leadership.Previous Canada NRM Chapter Symposiums have been pivotal in galvanizing diaspora unity and commitment. 

 According to Walusimbi ,the upcoming rescheduled symposium aims to build upon this tradition by fostering renewed patriotism and collective resolve to secure victory for President Museveni and the NRM Party in the 2026 polls.

“Confidence is high that the October event will energize the diaspora community, deepen engagement with Uganda’s development priorities, and strengthen unity and support for a prosperous future under NRM leadership,”he stated.

MINSTER FOR PRESIDENCY WITH CANADA NRM CHAPTER MEMBERS

President Yoweri Museveni in 2023 called upon Ugandans in Canada to invest in Uganda to develop the country.

“The Canadian investors who are willing to add value to our products are welcome to Uganda”, the President said.  

Museveni said NRM has prioritized the recovery and expansion process of the economy with even new products that were not formerly considered to be of any economic value now largely contributing to the  country’s economy.
