President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has assured Foreign Investors of government protection for their heavy investments in Uganda.
He made the remarks during the inauguration of the $100 million Aga khan University in Uganda at Nakawa and the construction of Aga Khan Teaching Hospital
President Museveni applauded the development impact of Aga Khan Development Agency to Uganda in the 1950s before the expulsion of foreigners in 1970s by previous regimes that led to the collapse of Uganda’s economy until the NRM government led the return of expelled foreigners that blossomed Uganda’s economy
Museveni said Uganda government is committed to ensuring a thriving private sector by providing a enabling environment that foster business and investment to thrive.
He commended the Aga khan Development Agency for establishing multi modern university with Smart lecture facilities, simulation laboratory, library and a multipurpose auditorium facility space that meets the timely education demands
Uganda government availed 60 acres of land in Nakawa to Aga khan Development Agency in joint partnership to establish a specialized teaching hospital and a university to address the service deficit on those specialties.

Prince Rahim Al-Hussainy, Aga Khan V said the Aga Khan University Hospital Kampala is a 101-bed state-of-the-art facility expected to revolutionize healthcare delivery in Uganda when completed in 2027.
He said once fully operational, the university will accommodate 700 students, 100 faculty, and 164 resident students.
Meanwhile first intake for the four-year Bachelor of Nursing Science programme is scheduled for this month.
Currently, AKU offers four academic programmes, with plans to expand into education, media, and health sciences once it secures a charter from the National Council for Higher Education.
The Graduate School of Media and Communications in Nairobi is also preparing to launch programs for Ugandan students locally.
