KENYA PRESIDENT PLEDGES 17BILLION TO HARAMBE STARS

 In excitement that will ignite Harambe StarS to put up more energy towards  wining African Nations Championship, Kenyan President William Ruto has pledged to reward Harambe Stars with sh 17billion if they win the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

Ruto made the announcement during a visit to the national team camp at the Pullman Hotel in Nairobi on Saturday.

Ruto also promised an additional Ksh1 million (Shs27 million) to each player for every victory, and Ksh500,000 (Shs14 million) per player for every draw throughout the tournament.

Ruto further pledged Ksh60 million (Shs1.6 billion) if the team reaches the quarterfinals and Ksh70 million (Shs 1.9 billion) for making it to the semifinals.

HARAMBE STAR HEAD COACH

This year’s CHAN is co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. The opening match saw Tanzania secure a 2-0 win over Burkina Faso on Saturday.

Kenya is set to face the Democratic Republic of Congo this afternoon, while Uganda Cranes will begin their campaign against Algeria on Monday 4th August.

African Nations Championship (CHAN 2024), the men’s football competition reserved for players active in their countries’ domestic leagues, will kick off on Saturday, 2 August, and run until 30 August 2025.

The TotalEnergies Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) kicked off in Dar es Salaam on August 2 with co-hosts Tanzania battling Burkina Faso at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium.

The TotalEnergies CAF CHAN, PAMOJA 2024 features 19 teams, and consists of four groups: three of them (Groups A, B, and C) will include five teams each, while Group D will have four teams.
