PLASCON DONATES  PAINT  TO REFURBISH TOORO KINGDOM

IN aCorporate Social Responbility drive to reach out to people in need,Uganda’s leading Paint Manufacturer Kansai Plascon has donated paint to refurbish Tooro Kingdom’s Royal Palace, ahead of Omukama of Tooro’s 30th Coronation Anniversary.

Santosh Gumte, Managing Director of Kansai Plascon Uganda handed over the items in presence of Daniel Kayongo, Head of Marketing, and Kato Moses, Head of Sales.

Tooro Kingdom Prime Minister Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire and Deputy Prime Minister Henry Basaliza accepted the donation.

“We are grateful to Plascon for this amazing initiative as we prepare for the coronation. This isn’t our first collaboration — Plascon has supported us over the years, including with the Amasaza Cup, which has helped us reach thousands more people.” Prime Minister Rwomiire said.

 “I officially invite you all to the coronation celebrations. The palace, freshly painted and restored to its majestic glory, will be an amazing place to be.”he added.

Gumte reiterated Plascon’s commitment to supporting cultural institutions. “We are proud to be the official paint partner of Tooro Kingdom. This is a long-standing relationship we deeply value — I’ve even been honored with an Empaako, Ateeyi,” Gumte stated.

He explained that “Supporting educational, cultural, and religious institutions is part of our ESG goals and our way of giving back to the communities that support us.”

The palace refurbishment is a key part of preparations for the 30th Coronation Anniversary of His Majesty the Omukama of Tooro, scheduled for Sept. 12, 2025. The project aims to ensure the palace looks its best for the highly anticipated celebrations.

This contribution reflects Kansai Plascon’s broader commitment to sustainability, heritage preservation, and community empowerment under its #ColourYourWorld initiative.Kansai Plascon East Africa was launched in 2016 with the acquisition of local paint businesses in 2017
