Victoria University has launched BeTV, a professional-grade television station designed to train and showcase Uganda’s next generation of broadcasters and content creators.
The grand announcement was made by Vice Chancellor Prof. Lawrence Muganga, who described BeTV as a transformative milestone that cements Victoria University’s reputation as a pioneer in experiential learning.
“When we talk about experiential learning at Victoria University, this is what we mean —learning by doing, all day, every day,” Prof. Muganga said.
“BeTV is not a campus project. It is a living media platform and an institution within an institution.”he added.
BeTV operates from the VU’s state-of-the-art studios equipped with red cameras, podcast zones, and music video production facilities, a landmark development that makes Victoria University the first Ugandan university to build a fully-fledged TV station integrated into its academic curriculum.
VU’s Director of Innovation Hub, Junior Dave Kazoora aka JKazoora, who is part of the project’s founding team, confirmed that auditions are open for aspiring presenters aged 18 to 25.
Kazoora says potential presenters are invited to submit a short phone video introducing themselves and explaining why they should join BeTV. Submissions can be sent through Victoria University’s social media pages.
Selected presenters will join the station’s pioneer lineup and receive hands-on training and mentorship to build their skills and personal brands.
Muganga emphasized that BeTV embodies the university’s Cooperative Education model, which fuses classroom theory with professional practice from day one.

The unveiling of BeTV follows the recent launch of VU Radio, reinforcing Victoria University’s status as a leader in modern, student-centered education that goes beyond degrees to deliver marketable skills and industry experience.
