MP MUHAMMED NSEREKO DECLARES HIS PRESIDENTIAL AMBITIONS

Kampala Central Member of Parliament Muhammad Nsereko has declared his intention to contest for the presidency in 2026 general elections.

Nsereko will contest under the Ecological Party of Uganda (EPU), a newly established political formation that he believes represents a fresh approach to governance, accountability, and environmental responsibility.

Over the years, Nsereko  has built a reputation for publically challenging both government officials and fellow opposition leaders whom he accuses of exploiting their positions for personal gain.

His decision to enter the presidential race is likely to draw attention to the evolving political landscape ahead of the 2026 elections, as new parties and independent voices position themselves as alternatives to the dominant political formations.

Although he is a member of the ruling party NRM, Kampala Central Member of Parliament Muhammad Nsereko since day one has been expressing strong resistance regarding the lifting of the age limit and on several occasions, he has been mobilizing fellow MPs especially those opposed to the move to fight the amendment of article 102b which aims at enabling President Yoweri Museveni rule beyond 75 years of age.

Today, during a media briefing, Nsereko vowed to bar plans by the age limit removal champions from tabling the bill citing that they will grab and tear it.
